About CJH Digital Collections
CJH Digital Collections provides access to the digital assets of the Center for Jewish History (CJH) and its five partner organizations, the American Jewish Historical Society, the American Sephardi Federation, the Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. The combined collections of the five partners constitute one of the most important resources for the documentation and exploration of the Jewish experience.
It is the purpose of CJH Digital Collections to promote and make accessible sustainable and useful digital collections over the long-term. CJH Digital Collections is administered by the Gruss Lipper Digital Laboratory. In addition to managing the Center community’s digital assets safely and securely, the Gruss Lipper Digital Laboratory also provides digitization services. It has recruited experienced staff, invested in state-of-the-art hardware and software and developed standards-based policies and procedures to fulfill this mission.
CJH Digital Collections features more than 50,000 digital objects, including rare books, children’s books, personal letters, official decrees, maps, memoirs, posters, photographs, scrapbooks, oral histories, finding aids and much more. CJH Digital Collections makes an important contribution to the preservation, access and educational missions of the Partners and the Center itself.
