Group Visits & School Programs

The Yeshiva University Museum (YUM) offers tours and programs for groups of adults, families, and school children.

Adult Groups: YUM's core of experienced and knowledgeable docents provides visiting groups with pertinent background information about the displays and engages participants in stimulating dialogue. In addition to tours of current exhibitions, art workshops and hands-on program components are available upon request.

School Programs: YUM offers a variety of programs that are tailored to age and skill level and are accessible to all school audiences. The programs include interactive gallery explorations, activities with hands-on collections, and art/craft workshops.

Web Exhibitions

Among the online teachers' resources available through the Center for Jewish History's web site are digital exhibitions and galleries created by the Center and its partners.

Women In Daily Life: An Online Bibliography

This selected bibliography of Center for Jewish History partner collections which highlight Women in Daily Life represents all of the areas in which Jewish women have played a major role including: domestic life, social life, and formal occupations. (Made possible by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.)

Essays

Thanks to a generous grant from the Smart Family Foundation, the Center for Jewish History was able to commission a series of essays by Dr. Kenneth Libo and Michael Skakun called Treasures from the Archives, that bring artifacts from the collections at the Center to life for general, non-scholarly audiences.

Samberg Family History Program

The Samberg Family History Program, an academic summer fellowship for high school students, engage teenagers in a multi-faceted exploration of Jewish history and their families' pasts. The program draws upon all of the resources at the Center for Jewish History: its world-renowned collections of books, archival documents, photographs, artifacts, paintings, films, sound recordings, and textiles; its expert curators, archivists, and librarians; its technology offerings, knowledgeable historians, and caring educators.

Fanya Heller Gottesfeld Bookstore

The Fanya Heller Gottesfeld Bookstore carries the publications of the Center's five partner organizations, as well as many other scholarly books (many of which rely on research conducted in the Center partners' library and archival collections).
