The holdings of the partners of the Center for Jewish History represent a collection of 100 million archival documents, manuscripts, and photographs; 500,000 library volumes; and tens of thousands of artifacts and works of art. Among the treasures are the original handwritten copy of Emma Lazarus' "The New Colossus," inscribed at the base of the Statue of Liberty; letters from such luminaries as Sigmund Freud and Albert Einstein; a letter from Thomas Jefferson denouncing anti-Semitism; the largest recorded Yiddish music collection; memorabilia of Jewish athletes; immigration records from all over the world; and genealogical materials from Eastern and Western Europe, including 1,000 family trees.

These treasures and more are accessible to researchers and visitors via the Lillian Goldman Reading Room and the exhibitions and public programs of the partner organizations.
