Biographical Notes

Born Georg Hermann Borchardt in Berlin on October 7, 1871, the novelist and writer Georg Hermann emigrated to the Netherlands in 1933. He is known best for such novels as Jettchen Gebert and Henriette Jacoby, which deal with problems of Jewish life in Germany. He was deported to Auschwitz and was killed there in 1943.
