Hours of Operation

Free Gallery Spaces:
Sunday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm
Monday and Wednesday, 9:30 am to 8:00 pm
Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Friday: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

*please note: the Free Gallery Spaces do not include the Yeshiva University Museum exhibits.

The Lillian Goldman Reading Room
Collections are available during the following open hours:*
Monday 9:30 am - 7:30 pm (YIVO archives and library are available until 5:00pm only)
Tuesday to Thursday 9:30 am - 5:30 pm (YIVO archives and library are available until 5:00pm only)
Friday 9:30 am – 1:30 pm (YIVO is closed)
(Check with individual partner organizations for any paging/retrieval deadlines or requirements they may have.)

The Fanya Gottesfeld Heller Book Store and Gift Shop is also open during all evening events.

The Center for Jewish History is closed on Saturday, all major Jewish holidays, and all major national holidays. 


Please note: The Center will be closed on Presidents' Day, February 15. On Erev Pesach, March 29 it will be open until 1:30 pm. The Center will be closed for Pesach on the following days: March 30, March 31, April 5 and April 6.

By Subway:

4,5,6, L, N, Q, R, and W trains to the 14th Street and Union Square station.
F, V, L, and PATH trains to the 14th Street and 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) station.
1, 2, and 3 trains to the 14th Street and 7th Avenue station.

Parking Garages

The Center is able to offer visitors discounted parking at the following locations:

Creative Parking LLC
16 West 16th Street (Entrances on 16th & 15th Streets)

Universal Parking LLC
55 West 14th Street (Entrances on 14th and 15th Streets)

Please note: Parking tickets must be validated at the Center's Security Desk located at the 16th Street entrance.

Parking On The Street

Overnight free parking is available on 16th and 17th Streets subject to parking regulations between 6 pm and 7 am but not allowed during the day. Metered parking can be found on 5th Avenue and on 6th Avenue (Avenue of the Americas). Parking is free on Sundays.
